w204 c250 airbag sensors removal and re-install
Had a minor front ender (air bags did not deploy)and have started the tear down, anyone have any knowledge on the air bag sensors located on collision bar? Specifically the proper removal and re-install. My radiator stiffener ripped out of collision bar so i was going to replace both along with radiator and radiator brackets Just want to make sure i don't blow the air bags when removing or re-installing the sensors. I would assume there is torque value for the sensors and collision bar if anyone has that info.. thanks long time MB owner new to forum. apology if i am doing this post wrong..
update, talked to MB body shop, no torque values on sensor or crash bar

I have read both that removing battery negative and letting it sit for 10-15 minutes, Have also read where that all is needed is to unplug the connector with engine off of course.. I guess the safest thing would be to disconnect battery before removal of connector to sensor. Anyone know any different?

I had a front end collision, which pulled the SRS impact sensor wires and connector. The sensor itself was fine. I had to crimp 2 new wire terminals and had to get a new connector. I did not disconnect the battery, just made sure the car was off and key not in ignition. The Mercedes WIS will caution you to disconnect the batteries when reconnecting the sensor.
