Just got the new baby- 2014 c300 w204
Minor annoyances... remote will lock and unlock the car but after the first 4 or 5 hours the remote will no longer open the trunk. Activating the the interior trunk switch on the left door panel does however work. Does this mean bad remote? I only got one with the car so options are limited. Do aftermarket remotes work? Just paid for the car today so cash is tight but love the car!
Need to do oil and filter change. Does it really matter about spec 229.3 vs 229.5 in synthetic oils? Was thinking of using Castrol Edge 5w40 full synthetic. It seems to meet 229.3 but perhaps not 229.5 specs. Am I splitting hairs here? Are the Mann oil filters ok to use or do I need to go with Benz dealer filter?
