Tire Advice?

2014 W204 4Matic here.

replaced my tires with Conti dws06 in September 2018 at the same time had the struts and shocks and alignment done as well as another alignment done a few months ago this past March.

I’ve racked up 40,000 KM on these tires since I purchased new in the past 13 months. The front tires are 6/32 (maybe just barely under 7) still good with the D/W/S still visible on the front tred however both the back have worn down to the wear bars. No abnormal wear, no cupping. Just worn down.

any idea why this would happen on a 4Matic? (You would they they would wear evenly) Is this normal? I do drive like a bat out of hell and I did read these cars are notorious for this somewhere on this forum.

next:
winter is around the corner, I have heard you have to do all 4 tires because of the differential and AWD. However technically I’ve been driving for the past 8 months with the tires wore down differently front vs rear. For example in March it was 7/32 on the front and 4 or 5ish/32 on the back.

can I get away replacing only the rear tires with new dws06s? New ones are 10/32 I believe.

thoughts?

W204 C300 4-Matic
The 4Matic system will automatically bias the rear with regular driving and especially so with hard acceleration as you have noted describes your driving style. If it detects slip in the front wheels such as in snow it will divert power accordingly.

You may get away with just replacing the tires on the rear axle. Next time I would recommend doing a regular tire rotation at least front to back to prolong life.
