Adding Engine Oil to the fuel tank
I own a W204, C Class CDI 250. Recently my mechanic / service advisor recommended to add engine oil alongwith diesel (fuel) in the fuel tank. He suggested any grade of engine oil mixed with fuel will make the engine more smoother. Is this something that forum members are aware off and would recommend, and if yes, would there be any positive and negative implications.

It all depends on the quality of fuel at the pump. If your diesel has a decent set of additives at the pump, then no. Don’t add it.. use a diesel fuel additive instead.
Using motor oil in the tank on a modern CDI will likely not do you any good... plus, if yours is fitted with a DPF, burnt motor oil in the exhaust aftertreatment system is a big no-no.

Cetane number isn't disclosed over here so you're in the dark between regular and so called premium diesel and I strongly suspect along with the extra price to be marketing .
So I add my own .
