Popping sound from lumbar area

Hello all,

I've been noticing since I got the car that if sometimes I push/my back is pushed against the lumbar area of the seat, especially as I get into the seat, I hear a popping sound from the lumbar area as if a stitch has just failed or a bubble wrap bubble has just burst.

The lumbar support remains inflated and all the controls work.

Anyone else notice/hear this and know what it is?

Thank you.

No replies, huh. Does the seat show signs of looseness when you push the seat back lt/rt, fore/aft ? Direct pressure on the seat back elicits the "pop" , noise occurs/disappears when lumbar fully released, noise occurs/disappears with seat back fully reclined?
Might track down the source...I have no idea if there is a mechanism/control piece in the seat back made of ABS that can break or an actuating arm that has popped of a socket.

Maybe a Search through this diagram catalogue might help.

Thanks for chiming in. The seat is solid and not loose at all. The car only has 27,000 km on it. I have deflated the lumbar support to see if the sound will come again or not.The recline has nothing to do with it. I could feel the pop sound coming from the lumbar area/system.

I will report back.
