cold vibration

My sons car a 2012 c300 has a very strange vibration. At even very low speeds 15-20mph it almost feels like the drive shaft is going to come out like the sensation of a very "tight"" vibration that has a drone in the passenger compartment. Very bad when cold but get's much much better when warmed up. Dealer installed new engine mounts, transmission mount, 4 new tires, inspected front and rear shafts while running on the lift including CV shafts.
In neutral reving engine it's very smooth, no issue. When geting on it and bringing rpm's up even warm it will have a different vibration like the engine balance or torque converter is off but only at kigher rpms so don't know if there is any coralation.
Again as it warms up it gets much much better where no one would notice....but cold... really bad.
I work at a dealer so inspecting everything on the lift before and after the dealer shows nothing.
Any help would be great....thanks !

I was going to say inspect the engine and transmission mounts, but you changed those already. If there is no vibration when the car is in neutral, and the problem only appears in Drive or Reverse, then this must be transmission and/or differential related. Is the car 4MATIC?

I advise that someone sits in the car and then have the car lifted and Drive engaged while the mechanic(s) inspect from below the source of the vibration. This should help you narrow it down better no?

Perhaps check the driveshaft flex joints front and rear? Has the transmission fluid been changed recently?

Fluid changed every other oil change, drain and fill. I will replace the couplers next.
We drove today and it was not that bad. It is strange how it will change but it is for sure temperature related as far as how severe it is.

Transmission fluid change on a 2012 C300, which will have the 7G+ transmisison, is only needed every 70,000 miles. Have you been changing it every other oil change as in every 20,000 miles?!!!! That is sooooo not needed so could a wrong oil fluid level cause the vibrations?

No.Keeping the fluid "too" clean will not hurt.
Fluid level right on the money. I am a transmission rebuilder by trade and work at a dealer. I have rebuilt hundreds and hundreds of transmissions in my life time and fluid condition is a main cause of transmission failures.

Honestly, if you're a transmission rebuilder and work at a dealer, then you're probably more knowledgeable than 90% of us here on the forums and better suited to figure it out.

Did you ever resolve this vibration? I think I have a similar issue with my 2010 C300 (not 4matic). During the first trip of the day, it has a rumbling vibration during acceleration 30-50 mph and minor vibration at highway cruise. This is primarily when cold- if you go on a 30 minute drive, vibration is no longer detectable at all- the car runs as smooth as can be at all speeds. The car has about 90k miles.
I changed the transmission fluid and filter and also got new tires but neither had any effect. I'm pondering what to do next- probably motor mounts or flex discs or both. Does anyone have any ideas of what could be causing this or other things to try?

Thanks!

start by inspecting the engine mounts, transmission mounts, and flex disc.
