Remote fob locking issue

Remote fob locking issue
Car details:
C180 W204 2010
Problem:
1. Vehicle doors will not lock unless i'm standing right next to the infrared window at drivers side door handle, this happens on both keys.
2. Vehicle unlocks all doors and boot release from any range 5m+
Anyone any ideas, seems strange that everything works as normal during "unlocking phase" which leads me to believe that the amp is fine and i also have great radio reception etc. but locking the vehicle has to be completed using the infrared window on the door handle
