Brake pipe corrosion 2009 C220cdi
Hi all,
I had a service yesterday and the garage told me that my front brake pipes have started to corrode on both sides. A little bit surprised given the age of the car but even more surprised when they told me it would cost £1000 to replace if it gets worse.
Has anyone had experience of corrosion on brake pipes at all?
Thanks!

I had pipes replaced on my 2007 after MOT failure. Fronts were +- £200 and rears were +- £300
The local garage did it, it's routine work.

Thanks for the heads up. My indie, who I've been using for years, reckoned up to £1000? He said something about "front to back" and "not that straight forward". I got the impression his mind was elsewhere because it sounded far too much!

I have, mine was on my rear lines though. Had to run a whole new brake line from front to back. I bought the new one from MB and it comes in single pieces straight, so you have to bend it yourself. Honestly an easy fix with a bit of patience, I went ahead and replaced the flexible line as well.
