I'm looking to upgrade my comand firmware. I can't find anywhere to download the updated files. Is there anything I can do besides taking it to the dealership? Has anyone on here had any luck upgrading the software themselves?

 

I'd imagine you could go to any Mercedes Dealer and have them update it.

 

Find the TSB on Bluetooth echoes. That requires an update of the COMAND firmware. If you have goodwill with the dealer, you might just get it for free.

 

Thanks guys I'm trying to avoid the dealer. They want to charge me $250 to bring it in and up date the software.

 

Wrong. Most dealers dont know what is firmware and they think that you want to update the maps. Thats the 250 for.

Tell them that is the firmware and not the maps! I payed pnly 50€ for that!

And the firmware update can only be done with Star Online, so its only on dealers!

 

May I ask why you are wanting to do this?

 

I recently installed a backup camera and I am unable to change a setting to get it to work properly. The upgrade will allow me to change the rearview camera to SRVC which my current software does not allow.
