I went to a used car dealer for a 2014 Mercedes c250 sedan.
They just got it from the auction and there's some codes that need to be fixed.
The dealer said that they were going to fix everything (along with minor cosmetic stuff) and that the car was not ready to go... But he wanted me to see it.
So, he let me test drive it because when he brought it in, it was running fine... and holy hell the thing was shaking under acceleration and idling rough.
He mentioned that it was a misfire.
I talked to his mechanic and he actually sent me the picture of the codes and, once again, he said that he was going to fix and replace everything that needs to be fixed.
Codes:
P0340-62: The position sensor for the intake camshaft (cylinder bank 1) has an electrical fault. The signal comparison is faulty. Current, Pending, Stored.
P0303-00: Combustion misfiring of cylinder 3 has been detected. There is a general failure. Current, Pending.
B1C11-13: The NECK-PRO head restraint 'Driver' has a malfunction. There is an open circuit. Pending, Stored.
I'm go
I will attach screenshot as well. From the codes
What are your opinions of the severity of these codes for future damage?
BTW, I'm going to take it to an independent benz mechanic I am just curious of your opinions.
I would stay away from the 250 (M271) engine. It's known to be problematic (high-pressure fuel pump failure, turbo problems, timing chain stretching, etc...) Lots of posts on this forum with these problems.
I stayed away and got a 2012 C300 4MATIC Sport with the reliable M272 V6 engine.
