My C180k W 204 2009 - Start up sound Bad
Hi all, When i start my car i hear a whining sound and have to wait for it to warm up when cold... like 3 minutes and getting longer, what could this be? it sounds like its the kompressor/supercharger, do these need to be serviced? what can i do myself to try fix this issue? im on 249,000 km at the moment and dont exactly trust my mechanic.

Hi,
Replace the Alternator pulley, in side of the pulley there is a one way sprag clutch which seizes up, this causes the unusual sound when cold or first stated and at idle speed.
The visual clue is the tensioner pulley flaps back and forth when first started, idling and making the noise.
Buy the pulley and tools used to change the pulley and the new pulley.
