2012 c300 manual mode issue

Recently had the ESL/EIS repaired. I have discovered a new issue. The problem is the manual mode when you’re in D and go to select it left or right to engage manual mode. The movement used to be almost a 1/2” I’d say to the left before selecting 1st gear. The problem is once you put it into first gear and go to upshift into second gear it won’t upshift unless you take it to redline and allow it to shift itself. The movement of the gear selector (left to right) is about half what it used to be, noticeably tighter/less travel. Would this have something to do with the person who serviced it and they had to get it out of the parking pin to move the car. Has anyone experienced this issue?
