W204 pre-fl instrument cluster retrofit

Finally got E class color instrument cluster,
spent couple hours in coding, then update the firmware that is silver background.
Reset the mileage without using and CAN filter or blocker
All working as is and no fault code.

The cluster support Chinese Japanese Korean English German as display language,
So try to make sure that works.
The original cluster only support English and European.
BTW I know Chinese and Japanese.

Hi Henry, noticed that ur using audio 20. How do u set the time n date since there's no setting for it inside the new cluster menu?
I've also fitted a FL cluster n can't adjust the time n date.
Thanks in advance.

By default time and language settings are hidden and need to set from Audio then it will sync to speedometer cluster automatically.
It is easy to code the cluster to re-enable time and language settings,
change time/date format, 24->12, yyyy/mm/dd, dd/mm/yyyy etc.
For languages, FL cluster already supported most western and asian languages, and support some middle east.
You can code it to display all supported languages, restrict to some western and asian, or no asian.

Was the cluster virginized? How did you code it?

Actually no need to virginize the cluster.
If you have tool can direct read/write the cluster through OBD or CAN bus, only four bytes is needed to 'marry' the cluster to your car,
then if you want to keep the original mileage there is another 64bytes, or you can program the mileage to anything you like if you know the principle (no CAN blocker is needed).
the last thing is coding, code the cluster to match your car's options.
It is easier get coding from original cluster for reference, then match them to the new one.
so no SCN coding is needed.

If that is used cluster, it is better clean up assyst data, of course you can keep it or ignore it.

just wondering, i have a facelift 2012 C63 with the yellow beckground gauge cluster, how did you manage to make it the silver one? does the cluster itself need to be changed? is it a update only or is there much more to it?

Is it possible to get rid of the AMG logos for non-AMG cars?
