Question on rims

Hello, I am new here. Excuse me if there is another question, as mine.
I am going to purchase new rims in the next months for my car. Unfortunately, I have bought summer and winter tyres (225/45/17), which means I am limited with my choise to rims with width of 7.5J or maximum 8.0J and 17 inches diameter... I wanted to put used AMG Sport rims, but unfortunately I have to change 4 tyres, in order to have them.... (AMG sport rims are 8.5J).

So my question is, could you recommend a qualitative brand for rims. I saw that there are some replicas of AMG sport rims (RIAL, DEZENT, etc), but I am not sure about their quality... And other idea for rims?

I recently made friends with someone who deals wheels and I asked him about forged/cast/OEM/aftermarket wheels. One thing he said that I believe holds truth is cheap rims will crack easily and not last, established brands that have a thorough and quality process of manufacturing for the most part will show the durability wanted. I’m not a fan of replicas. You should be fine if you get 4 fronts or just buy a rear set of tires. If that was an option on your car.

Thank you for the reply! Could you please specify any brand? For example is Borbet good brand? We know O.Z. and VOSSEN are very good brands, but too expensive. Any other suggestions?

Enkie is an established brand and affordable. Other budget friendly one would be TSW. I don’t know about borbet. You should spend time to find something you like then research the companies reputation. I would also recommend looking for used Mercedes wheels as well as an option.

Yep, but reviews in the net are not so fine... Someone says they are good, other says that they are bad...

I think part of it comes down to how much the wheel is. Not all cast/forged wheels are the same as far as durability/quality. Even within the same brand. What is your budget approximately?

225 will stretch fine 8.5 inch wide wheels and you'll be fine. Go with the used AMG wheels you wanted.

Borbet makes AMG rims for Mercedes. I would get authentic AMG rims. You pay for what you get. Ebay always have some listed. Just be patient and get a good set. That’s what I did.

Try BBS they make the Mercedes OEM wheels. You could try the BBS SR series for 17.

I had TSWs (Rotary Forged) on my C350. I had them for 7 years (45,000 miles). I never had any problems and I ran a small stretch at the rear...255 on a 10.5 inch wide wheel. I've also had success with Savini Da Vinci's on my GTR and Niche on my Maserati. I won't spend more than $2500 for a set of wheels.

I prefer not to spend over than 750 euro for the 4 wheels.
