CEL 0496 & Excesive Ethanol in the gas

CEL 0496 & Excesive Ethanol in the gas
After fighting for 3 years with Mercedes Benz (Coral Gables dealer) to solve the CEL P0496 incident, my warranty ended and now I have a permanent yellow gift on my dashboard.
The solution provided repeatedly by Mercedes was that I should try to use a better gas, always from the same gas station, because the CEL was on due to excess of Ethanol in my gas!!
Has any of you got this problem? I always use Premium (Chevron). Is 10% Ethanol too much for this engine? Should I try to find ethanol-free gas to have a try?
Do you see any sense in all of this?
The car runs fine, no further symptom, just the recurrent 0496 CEL. After I clear it, it switches on again after 10 miles.
The EVAP emissions Purge Solenoid Valve seems to work OK to me.
Any idea?
