Steering angle sensor codes
W204 2009 c63
Disconnected my battery to replace my steering wheel with a 2013 C63 wheel and matching multifunction switch. Since then, my MIL has been illuminated and the following codes exist.
00C428
C124500
D1A300
00C1938
00C1173
00C1939
all codes point to the steering angle sensor being faulty or installed incorrectly. I’ve tried swapping the multifunction switch with another and the problems persist. I’ve also tried the SAS rest procedure of turning the wheel lock to lock obviously to no avail.
Are there any ideas out there on solving this? Maybe an official MB process of Either resetting the SAS or initialization/ installation of the multifunction switch could be helpful.

Issue was fixed by clearing current ESP codes and then performing the SAS reset procedure a third time.

I would think that you would also need the Steering Control Module (SCM). Check the wiring diagrams between your model year and the 2013 model year for steering control module to determine capatability

Not a bad line of thought. However in this case it’s not necessary. Only the multifunction switch and airbag are needed to upgrade to the facelift steering wheel. Issues were resolved by essentially repeating the same steps again a few times until it worked. All is good now.
