2013 C300
Interior Door Handle
Has anyone had an interior door handle break? My (2013 C300, 107K miles) just broke. Went to get out of the car, pulled moderately on the driver side handle, heard a bit of a snap. Now it is loose and doesn't open. Feels like it became disengaged from the cable. Any thoughts? Common? Am I too strong? Repair costs? Should I buy the $30 replacement on Amazon and try and do it myself?

UPDATE: The Dealership just called and told me that it would cost about $1,500 to repair because this problem "necessitates" the entire door panel to be replaced... Are you kidding me? Anyone happen to know of any bodyshops in the Louisville KY area that work on MBs?
