Command Head Unit W204
The Command system Part No. A204900851180 APS NTG 4.5, of my 2012 C250CDI W204 is functioning erratically:
The (single) DVD drive has stopped working totally and the system hangs when searching music libraries from both the resident disk inside and USB pen drive (that I normally use) as well.
Additionally, the radio does not pick up all the FM signals that it once used to.
The Authorized Mercedes Service station has checked the system and updated the software twice and are unable to assist me. It seems to them that the DVD has become defective and is causing the other problems. I understand (from other threads on this site) that aftermarket upgrades are risky. So am looking for an OE replacement - buying new is exorbitant indeed !
I have come across used but fully functional units that are reasonably priced on Ebay https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/MERCEDES-...97.m4902.l9144
I find these may match my requirement but the part numbers are different:
A20490 09510
A20490 13603
A20490 00308
A20490 03509
A20490 11803
On looking closely I find the part Nos. are related to the silver function buttons lined up below, other than Sat Nav or Internet Connectivity.
These are options based on the regional model features in different markets.
My car comes with Hazard Warning, Park Sensor and Backlight Screen options.
It does not have either Sat Nav or Internet Connectivity functions.
Will appreciate advise if:
1/ Any of the above indicated Part numbers match my requirement
2/ One of the option buttons will connect for my Backlight Screen
3/ By fixing a unit with Sat Nav and / or Internet Connectivity, these features will obviously become available

Planning to actually remove the unit myself to check the details on the label.
A tutorial video is there for guidance
Wonder what the 8 digit theft code will be. Is there a way of getting that code?
The Mercedes Service in our locality is pathetic and incompetent.
