Apparently, yes.

If I can find the letter I will post it.

My dealer is about 50 miles from you — Mercedes Benz of The Woodlands on I-45 just north of College Park/Needham Rd.

FYI-An independent shop can do the repairs for about ½ of what MB will charge if you are denied coverage. But both the indie mechanics I know say that that after market parts are unreliable and recommend the Mercedes parts.

Also have your dealer check the in service date on your car. A 2012 originally bought in 2011 may be very close to out of the extended warranty. However, if it is a CPO from the dealer, it still has at least one year from the purchase date for all failures.
hi - just reading your comment. when mb issues an extended warranty on an issue such as the 10 year cam shaft adjuster - is it 10 years from the first purchase of the car or 10 years from when one purchased the car as certified pre owned.

my grandmother recently passed away and left me her 2013 c250, the camshft problem presented itself almost exactly one month after the 10 year mark of the car, likely due to the low miles she had put on it the last few years. MB has offered no help but i noticed a CPO sticker in the door jam, this could possibly help me if that is the case that extemded warranty starts with the CPO purchase

thankyou !

The extended warranty period starts when the car was first put into service. That’s usually the date of the first sale or lease. However, if the car spent any time as a program car, dealer demo, or loaner, then the extended warranty starts when it was first used for that purpose. Unfortunately that probably won’t help you with the repair cost. Most 2013 cars are beyond the extended warranty coverage. But a low mileage C250 is probably still well worth the cost of repair at an indie shop, but not a dealer. If there are multiple German car shops in your area, shop around.
