Facelift W204 Aftermarket DRL Strips
Has anyone had any experience with aftermarket DRL strips that are the same quality and brightness as OEM?
I live in Canada where the weather gets pretty harsh so my DRL strips tend to crack pretty often. My OEM ones lasted quite a while but last year I had to replace one due to one of the LED's in the strip flickering. I went to the dealer and was quoted just above $1k CAD for a pair. I figured I would see what kind of aftermarket options are out there because even with protection film they still crack from impact from rocks and etc. I ended up buying a pair on Amazon for like $40 to replace them temporarily and they're fine, but they're not as bright and look more like one uniform strip as opposed to four independent LED's. They're also whiter than the OEM ones and I'd like all my lights to match. I've found some alternatives on CarID like TYC, Alzare, Replace, Depo, and ULO that are all priced relatively decent ($300 - $500 USD for a pair). The OEM ones have ULO stamped on the back so I assume ULO is the original manufacturer for OEM. I'm ok with spending the $300 - $500 as long as I'm getting OEM quality (brightness, looks, etc.), just not $1k+ lol. I'm just afraid that I'll drop that money and it won't be up to my standards. Just wanted to see if anyone has tried any of these brands or has any input, I'm most likely going to purchase the ULO ones in the spring.
