The article in the July/August Star about "smart keys" made me think I'm missing something. Did the 2012 C300 come with a push button start. The car I bought does not have a button, but should it?

If your vehicle came equipped with keyless go.... then..... all you have to do is install the button into the EIS, lock and unlock the car and now it should start with the button. Also, this is assuming that your key is a keyless go key. If you post your last 8 of the VIN I can tell you if you have keyless go.

you can tell if you have keyless go by looking at the exterior door handles for the square indent

Another way to tell is Keyless-Go doorhandles have a chrome top surface. The regular handles are solid body-color
