Need a LCD Monitor Screen
Howdy,
My 2009 C300 $Matic with Nav's Command Monitor Screen began to flash and the lovely smell of hot wiring insulation and a whiff of smoke wafted out of its top. Radio plays but not able to see or toggle through screen menu now. Took screen out..amazingly the 2 mini 5 amp fuses aren't blown but unit is toast. Part # A204 820 46 97 9F 45.
eBay has used units from Euro zone. Anybody got a good unit they would sell me, leftover from their aftermarket setup, for instance. My interior color is black but not fussy about color as long as working monitor for NAV equipped radio. Any other ideas pointing me towards a unit would be appreciated. Assume it's plug and play and doesn't need marrying.
Thanks in advance,
Craig

If you take the bezel off from around the lcd screen and expose the actual lcd panel, you will see its made by a different company (LG is ringing a bell but I could be wrong) and you can go on aliexpress or alibaba and source the exact same screen for like 25 dollars and install it into your bezel.
Sounds like lots of work but its really not... or go on ebay and buy a used one..

I did strip down the unit..the screen is a Siemens VDO Screen casing, part # A2C53296527 ( previous poster correct..actually LCD only is an LG). I checked out eBay and various other sources & I came up blank for just the screen.. A Van Nuys outfit will repair mine for $350. I opened up the screen and it's the wire ribbon right at the top left corner of the circuit board which now looks like a cheese pizza. I didn't try any of the China sites I must admit..will Google them now out of curiosity.. Got a used unit including the flip up case arriving tomorrow from Canada...hopefully it's not a "DOA" ! Thanks for the reply.

Tried Aliexpress and Alibaba and came up with no matching hits. I f you happen to know a site with this Siemens VDO screen, let me know. My old unit is fine except for the screen...I even tried looking for just the circuit board to no avail.

Used complete unit out of Canada worked perfectly. Did find a Asian source for the screen alone....https://www.aliexpress.com/item/3268...archweb201603_ ...at a pretty decent price for a new unit.
If anyone needs the motorized unit with a good circuit board, missing the screen insert only, mine will be sitting in a closet . Thanks to Scott Elliot, an Aussie on YouTube for his help with DIY instructions and the link to a new screen.
