P0340 2013 Mercedes-Benz C250
Good afternoon! I am new here and have a question for my 2013 Mercedes-Benz C250 1.8L DOHC Turbo sport.
I got the code P0340: I replaced the camshaft position sensor, P0340 is still there. I tested the sensor voltage by multi-meter both of engine running and engine stop while battery ON.
The sensor looked working well at both of testing situations.Some day the engine light shows ON, other day the engine light is CLEAR but you still get the code by scanner with yellow light ON instead of red light ON on scanner.
What do you think about it? The reasons may be camshaft magnet or adjuster/phaser? Or someone else?

What is the description of the code? What are you reading it with? Most likely your issue is with the intake cam adjuster. Once of the most common problems with this engine.

I am not a professional tech. This is my own car. I just have a simple ODB2 scanner which shows code P0340 without description.
I searched the code P0340 from internet which shows camshaft position sensor issue. And engine light ON & CLEAR in different day.
If this is the cam adjuster/phaser problem, the replacement of adjuster/phaser will be a challenging work for me.
Because the engine light ON & CLEAR in different day, I think that it may be the cam adjuster magnet problem.
Maybe I can try to replace the cam adjuster magnet firstly.
If it is related the intake, I can only replace the intake cam adjuster magnet.
Does it make sense?
