Chronic Battery Warnng
First post on the Forum.
I have a 2009 C300 Sport 4-Matic (W204) with 163k miles. Recently I'm getting a red "Battery" light in the cluster. The car starts, runs fine. It's only in the morning or sitting
for more than 7 hours. No other issues. I've replaced the battery and the charging system has been checked. The shop wants to charge hourly to begin investigation. I'm
wondering if there is a "known" issue that could save time here. Has anybody encountered this AND figured it out? There's been two weird events during this period.
1-Command display closed while driving. Reopened after an ignition on/off cycle. 1 event
2- The right side running lights stayed on after key was out of ignition for more than 5 mins. 1 event. Once ignition was cycled...it went away.
Any help is appreciated.

With problem #2 please leave the light switch in the auto position to avoid flickering or park lights random operation.
Problem # 1 Think some models have an auxiliary battery just wonder if your has one and if it is faulty.
on OFF, I do get random lights coming on. I've ordered a new light switch, hopefully this helps. I've also noticed
when on auto the lights, on the dash and headlights flicker....so I also ordered a new auto light sensor.
I doubt however...that the switch or sensor will solve this very random low battery indication.
