2014 C300 engine dies after starting warm engine
Hi All- I've had this very intermittent problem since I picked up my 2014 c300 with 45k miles in 2018. After trips lasting longer than 3 hours, the engine will sometime stall after I shut the engine off and come back to it with a warm engine. It has happened a handful of times in the last 45k miles with no CEL present. I had this happen the other day where I parked my car, came back to it an hour later and the first attempt to start the car normally stalled after a few secs after it started. No extended crank. Second attempt didn't stall but ran very roughly and was down on power and I had to give it gas to keep it going. Evened out after about 3 mins of driving. Next day after it sat over night, no problems. Made the same trip the following day and let it sit for half an hour before jumping back in. Started up no problem.
The last time this happened I was on a 9 hour road trip and I was thinking I might have picked up some bad premium gas in the boonies since it tends to sit for longer at the station outside of the cities and suburbs. Last tank of premium came from a busy costco so I do not think the fuel is to blame.
Leading culprit to me right now is the crank position sensor.
Does anyone have any experience with this type of problem? Precious little info out there on the m276 engine and this issue. Looking at the cps location on the m272, I am making an educated guess that it is down on the driver side of the bell housing. Can anyone confirm this? Do you get to it from the top or bottom? Looks pretty tight from the top on a 204.
Any help is appreciated!

That is weird, as long as the fuel is premium.
Not really a common issue so I can't say, but if it is the CPS, it should be a relatively cheap fix if you do it yourself.
Honestly, it doesn't hurt just to bite the bullet and do it for $30. If it works, then you've helped the engine longevity.
