Key hertz rating....315 or 433.
Hi all,
While is was cleaning my workshop room in my garage at home and reorganising parts etc, I discovered I had a new spare blank key that I had forgotten I had bought.
It has a sticker on the back saying that it is 433 hertz.
Now I know my 2003 W211 has a 315 hertz key.
This new key is the same metal edged one like my existing W204 keys.
Can anyone please confirm that this is the correct rating for an early (pre facelift) W204?
When I had my steering lock issue fixed, the dealer said that apparently my spare key wouldn’t work ‘properly’. They wanted both keys for when the fixed the steering lock/start issue.
