2012 w204 suddenly died while driving.
Hi, so yesterday, my c250 suddenly died in the middle of the street. At 1st the car still crank for a bit when I try to start it again but after a few tries it just died.
Got it towed to to a mechanic shop. They called me today and said they need to open the valve to check my timing?? because it’s off. And it will cost me 500$ just to check. Should I agree to it? What do you think might be the problem? The services B is also 600 miles pass due.

How many miles? Was there smoke? What other symptoms did you experience?
If you DIY, do the inspection yourself. If you don't DIY, you need to pay an indy shop or the dealer. Do you want to keep the car or is it time for something new?

I had a friend help me check. So it’s not the fuel pumps, alternator or the battery. Service B is exceeded by 600 miles thou since covid is making it real hard on me financial wise. No smoke. 4~5 mins before the red light where it broke down, I did have to swerved really hard to the left.
