No sound with phone/no microphone

Hoping someone can help - here's the problem:
I have successfully paired my Samsung Galaxy A20(and uploaded all my contacts) to the COMAND system. The phone dials through the system and the phone rings through the system. But, there is absolutely no sound. I have adjusted all of the volume controls up (in the phone settings menu and using the knob on the front of the system). I get plenty of volume via the radio.
In addition, the microphone is not working. When I attempt to do a voice initialization, the system cannot hear me. And, when I try to speak through someone on the phone when connected to the system, there is no sound (ie no one can hear me).
This sounds like it could be a blown fuse or a loose wire or a disconnected wire. I did a system reset on the COMAND and it did not help. I also ran the diagnostics and everything seemed to check out.
Trying to avoid the dealer if I can. Any ideas/suggestions as to what might be wrong?
