Puddle light kit for inside of door?

Puddle light kit for inside of door?
Howdy! A friend of mine asked for help with his 2014 C300 sedan. He got a cheap kit from Amazon that is supposed to stick to the front door pocket and turns on when contact with a small magnet is broken.(opening the door)
The problem is that the included tape, and HD 3M tape I have won't keep the light stuck to the door panel.
We either need a better adhesive /tape that will stick to the door panel, or a better light kit. We would rather not use something that would mess up the door pocket if he takes the light off later..
OR, is there something he can add like the ones that come on the later w205, with the puddle light built in to the red inside door safety light?

Yes the red door lights have the logo on them it’s a simple plug and play it literally pops right in. Wish I had a part number for you.Just so you know that a kit cost like 167 if I recall exactly and you need to buy 2 kits as 1 kit comes in ea pair I learned that when I replaced my GL450 door lights. I bought mine from eBay.

Thanks for looking, but that part number is for the later (current) w205, not the previous gen 2008-2014 W204. I've only found under - mirror lights for the W204, though I only just started looking yesterday.
I was hoping to find an aftermarket version that worked on the older cars, or, an adhesive / tape that won't stain /mar the door if he takes the light off later.
