Diesel - fuel t-connector spraying

Hi all,

2009 S204 320CDI, has nearly 250k km, and has recently been making burning diesel smells when running - though only noticable when I open the sunroof. So I had a quick look under the hood and it's this thing here:

It's got some really fine haircracks, and only when I try to bend it will fuel start spraying out in any visible amount. Unfortunately, when the t-shaped cover is clipped on, it does it more, so I've unclipped it for now (stowed below the fuel line in the pic). Does anybody knows what this thing is called, and maybe even have a number? Merc themselves only list the whole fuel line assembly for €€€ but don't even have any in stock, and couldn't tell when they would. So - how to fix this???

Many thanks in advance!!!

Kai.

Amazon Amazon

Amazon Amazon

Brass T fittings available in various hose size diameters on Amazon, eBay. The 2nd link actually looks like your OEM plastic fitting. Would use fuel line clamps, not generic worm clamps which tear up rubber lines more.

I heard brass can be problematic with (bio-) Diesel - is this not the case? (Zn being corroded by diesel?)
