2006 CLS 320 and a 2008 C220 estate
Oil spill

Right another question from a newbie who knows sod all about engines. Going to change my air filter on my 2008 c220 estate. Took of the engine cover to find oil all around as you can see in the two pictures. The rubber piece sitting to the left of the filler cap is sitting loose and appears to be broken at the end nearest the windscreen. So before I tear the dealer who sold me this a new one could anyone who knows a tad more than me explain what the cause of this and the potential issues.
