I just got Toyo R888R tires (275/35/19) installed on my rear wheels and they are rubbing against the fender quite a bit. My car is lowered which explains why it is rubbing. I just wanted others opinion on whether it is okay to drive the way the car is currently set up or if I have to make changes. Getting new tires is slightly out of question since I just bought these Toyos and would prefer not to have to spend too much to fix this problem. As you can see I have the stock 507 wheels and no spacers, just lowering springs and the Toyos. Please help me out because I drive the car daily and don't want to run into any problems. One thing that did slightly help was lowering the tire pressure from 50 psi to 43 psi but it still rubs heavily on turns (probably because of the car shifting weight). Anything helps thanks.
In this picture you can see the marks on the outer sidewall of the fender rubbing into the tire.
What tire size was on there before, and what brand/model of tire? Did they rub? R compounds tend to run wider than "normal" tires, so if you were running 275s before without rubbing then this is probably just a matter of the R888s running wider.
