2011 C180 Whistling noise
Hi all, i've been searching around the forums and other places for this issue but havent found one yet.
I am experiencing a "whistling" or "ringing" noise when driving my car, its not tied to RPM but will however quiet down after going 110KM/H (probably getting drowned by regular wind noise)
It sounds like its coming from behind me but i could be wrong. The car has just passed 90.000km and was oil serviced about 2 months ago, I will attach a clip to the noise which might seem faint in the video but
is pretty audible and incredible annoying to me. Ive checked the AC by turning it off and on and doing the same with the cabin fans but it doesnt seem to have anything to do with the noise.
Anyone that maybe has had the same issue?

Tire noise? Have you recently gotten new tires? Here in Texas we have grooved pavement to help with traction in wet weather on our main highways. Some tires, especially the high mileage ones, will produce an annoying “whine” until the pitch gets out of the hearing range at higher speeds. Your video clip sounds quite a bit like that to me.

Update: Me and my friend who knows a little more than me about cars seem to have located the sound coming from the engine bay, it does indeed fluctuate with rpm but ever so slightly.
Suspect is power steering pump or belt tensioners
