Where is the aux input?

I have a 2014 C250 (w204, I think). I’ve seen others similar to mine that have the auxiliary input wire in the elbow box (center console) but mine doesn’t have one. Where can I find it?

my goal: install the android 10.5 screen

but it needs the auxiliary connection

thanks in advance

Center console is where it is on my wife's '14 C250. If your AUX input isn't in the center console, then someone at some point removed it.

in the elbow box, next to the (2) usb ports, i see a factory blank (space). Could that be where the AUX wire should be installed?
if i open that, do you think there is a way to install one myself?

Did you check the glove box? I believe some W204s had the aux in there.

Nothing in the glove box but the nav module.

If you have the nav module in the glove box, then you have the Audio 20 system. I’m thinking the aux port came with the COMAND system. Not 100% sure though.

My wife's '14 C250 that I mentioned earlier has the COMAND system, and has the AUX input in the center console. So that checks with MBpippo's comment.

This is what I think (not what I know) but I do have a 2013 with the nav unit in the glove box and did have a 2015 without the nav unit.
The one with the nav module came with the aux connector at the back of the center console under the doors along with a USB port. It also came with associated AV cabling for music and video.
The one without the Nav module had no aux connector anywhere.
Both cars had Command.
A call to a nearby dealer would probably clear up any confusion. By giving them the VIN they could tell you what options the car came with and whether an aux connector could be added. My local dealer does not charge for this kind of thing.

I’m beginning to think the guys at my dealership are a dying breed.

Aux or not, you will definitely have an MMI port. It's a rectangular port kind of like a bigger USB port. It's usually in the centre box, or the dash glovebox. It's kind of hard to spot and may be tucked away out of sight, or behind some sort of cover. Check your manual for MMI.

You can get an original or Chinese MMI to AUX, MMI to USB or MMI to iPod, old 13 pin connector. There's also an original cable that is all three in one. I used to use it with my defunct iPod classic 160 gig, more music than you'd ever need, before i switched to streaming Bluetooth.

sidiculous,

i double checked the center console box.. i have a factory blank beside the usb port.
in the dash glove box, all i have there is the navigation/map module. its located in the same location where i've seen [other mercedes vehicles] have the MMI port. i removed the module but the port is not the same as the MMI port. totally different.

Could this have been the MMI port.... but they reconfigured it for the map module?

Strange. In my experience, the Navigation module is built in the back of the head unit. Would you be able to send a picture of said port? Any chance this is an aftermarket module?

Not an aftermarket unit. US models have the Becker Map Pilot (by Harman Becker) which is in the glove box. Cadman has the coupe and I have the the sedan version of the same car except, for some reason, he lacks the AUX and/or MMI connector.
That’s got to be buried all the way down in the original build options.

gazzh85,

i was not able to resolve the issue. i had no choice but to install with no AUX connection. I've been using the system for a few years now. Each time i want to use the unit, i need to select AUX from the car's original on-screen menu first... then i can tap the screen and go into phonelink and connect my phone wirelessly and use carplay. The point of the AUX connection is for the unit to automatically select AUX for you.

good luck and let me know if you find a better option.
