The one with the nav module came with the aux connector at the back of the center console under the doors along with a USB port. It also came with associated AV cabling for music and video.
The one without the Nav module had no aux connector anywhere.
Both cars had Command.
A call to a nearby dealer would probably clear up any confusion. By giving them the VIN they could tell you what options the car came with and whether an aux connector could be added. My local dealer does not charge for this kind of thing.
i'm so disappointed

You can get an original or Chinese MMI to AUX, MMI to USB or MMI to iPod, old 13 pin connector. There's also an original cable that is all three in one. I used to use it with my defunct iPod classic 160 gig, more music than you'd ever need, before i switched to streaming Bluetooth.
i double checked the center console box.. i have a factory blank beside the usb port.
in the dash glove box, all i have there is the navigation/map module. its located in the same location where i've seen [other mercedes vehicles] have the MMI port. i removed the module but the port is not the same as the MMI port. totally different.
Could this have been the MMI port.... but they reconfigured it for the map module?

That’s got to be buried all the way down in the original build options.

i was not able to resolve the issue. i had no choice but to install with no AUX connection. I've been using the system for a few years now. Each time i want to use the unit, i need to select AUX from the car's original on-screen menu first... then i can tap the screen and go into phonelink and connect my phone wirelessly and use carplay. The point of the AUX connection is for the unit to automatically select AUX for you.
good luck and let me know if you find a better option.
