HOLD appeared out of nowhere
For last 8 yrs I have never seen it in this car but my wife told me today when she was backing out at a mall parking lot she saw "hold' on the dash.
I believe she did see it because she is not a car person so there's no reason for her to imagine it if she did not see it with her own eyes.
Any idea what it could be?
I don't think there's any thing that is broken because i have had this car since 23k miles on it and only saw "hold" today once by my wife.
Is there a setting or some thing that shows is on?
If, however, your HOLD feature is not working, and the ECO start/stop us also not working, then you need to check the main and auxiliary battery, one or both of which would be weak. You should also check your power specs from the Vehicle Data menu, it's possible you have a weak alternator or faulty voltage converter.

On a facelift C Class 204 the auxiliary battery has nothing to do with HOLD , I should know mines now a paperweight after completely removing it to permanently disable Stop Strain .
