Question Various issues - wondering if bad ECU

Hi all,
Looking for some MB wisdom
I drive a 2008 C300.
Last week car wouldn't start, as battery was drained. Replaced battery
Battery was again drained a couple days later.
Service center (not MB, but nice european car service center) thought it was a bad ground cable. Replaced it
I was out of town, and in the coming days another battery was yet again drained.
Before battery was totally drained, service center said that break lights randomly turned on when car was off. Also, windshield washer fluid started spraying randomly.

Would all of this be caused by a faulty ECU, which was very hot during service center's diagnosis?
Alternator was checked and came back good.

Trying to get a gameplan together before authorizing further diagnosis (or maybe taking to MB service center for diagnosis)

Any thoughts / suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Take it to an Indy who has access to the MB Star diagnostic system for proper diagnosis. MB will be much more expensive.

I really struggle with how they thought the earth cable would cause battery discharge I mean did they have any idea like check for current draw when everything was off, any way.

Do you think your Mercedes could have water ingress, as it sound like random things turning on and off have caused the battery discharge and I wonder is water has entered one of the sam units.
I think the ECU will be last thing on my list, they are just so reliable.
