2012 C250 transmission question
This is my first forum post, so go easy on me! I recently purchased a 2012 C250 with 95k miles on it and I'm planning to give it to my grandson soon. The car is in absolutely impeccable condition, but I'd still like to change all of the fluids. The car has the 722.9 7-speed transmission and I have several questions about it:
1. A local shop will do the transmission work for $420, which seems high to me. Is this the going price for a fluid/filter change?
2. I'd prefer to do the work myself, but I want to make sure that the fluid in the torque converter is flushed as well. Is there a special procedure for doing this and/or are special tools required?
3. Can the dipstick for the 722.6 transmission be used to check the fluid level of the 722.9 transmission?
Thanks in advance!

2. The torque converter has a drain plug which can be removed. There is an inspection cover on the bottom of the bell housing. Remove the inspection cover and rotate the crankshaft slowly until you see the torque converter plug. It's a 5 or 6 mm hex.
3. There is no place to install a transmission dipstick. You have to pump in the new transmission fluid, reinstall the drain plug, then start the car and wait until the transmission fluid temperature reaches 50C to check the fluid level. The level is checked by removing the drain plug and watching the fluid flow. No flow - add more fluid. Flow above a dribble - wait until flow recedes to a dribble.
At 95K I would also replace the transmission mount. It's readily accessible when you're changing the transmission fluid.

Hi,
You could ask the shop if you could wait and see inside the sump pan and also the draining of the converter before leaving the car with them until completed, I think that the answer will determine if you trust them going forward or do research tooling/info and do it yourself
