COMAND Multi-Switch Push-Button Scroll Wheel Fix (2012 facelift)
Tried to remove control unit from the car, and found the cable can't be moved (for facelift models), and found this video pretty useful:
For the FACELIFT version, the cable is fixed by a metal clip under the component and neet to pry the carpet out to remove the cable, took me a long time and very hard, here are the picture I took: (In this photo I already managed to get the wire out)
After I got the unit out, the knob cap is hard to remove, I used W2 and heat gun as well, and fount there are 4 clips you can push into to remove the cap ring:
the picture after I took it off, be mind that the black plastic features you can see before remove the cap ring are not the clips, the clips are hidden under the ring, and we can't see them before took the ring out.
after that it's pretty much easy and as the video instructed.
