2010 W204 200cgi there is no compression in cylinder
Hi, I have a 2010year w204 200cgi. I bought this car a few months ago, recently I found some oil inside the cooling reservoir, I took it to a workshop, it cost about 2500 us dollar so I DIY.
First I guess the head cylinder gasket was broken so engine oil leaked into the coolant, therefore I replaced the cylinder head gasket. but I discovered that the gasket was fine. so I replace
the oil cooler gasket which I found it was broken.
After I re-installed my car, it cranks no not run, I checked all the marks and found it is ok. When I checked the compression, there was no compression at all!
Someone said that I wrongly installed the camshafts and it caused no compression.
Can you tell me how to install those camshafts properly?
Thank you.

This info maybe of considerable help with the cams placement....

Have you had the car on STAR to check for any fault codes?
One thing that occurs is that if the valve timing was off [mechanically] it might not show up as a fault code. I believe camshaft timing is crucial on these CGI engines- that's why MERC use a toothed timing chain arrangement rather than the open chain and sprocket arrangement? I expect there's a way to visually check this basic timing via marks on the associated mechanical components but I'm not privy to that info sorry think you need a special bolt on jig for this?
