W204 C300 35 offset rims?

Hi,

Recently purchased set of rims/tires that are are 35 offset all around, but it’s rubbing in the back. Tried searching to see if it’s possible to make it work with a different set of tires but seeing a lot of mixed reviews…

225/40R18
255/35R18

Anyone know if I can make this work somehow? Maybe switch the back the tires? All suggestions welcomed. Thank you!

EDIT: If you’re on this thread don’t do it. Back tires rubbed a lot, ended up selling the set.

The 18 inch factory rear wheels have a 54 offset. That’s a difference of 19 mm or ¾ inch. To get back to stock tire clearance, it looks like a 215/45 R 18 would be needed, but possibly something with less clearance would be okay. Maybe your tire store or Tire Rack could make a suggestion.

Let me mention that I don't think the 215/45 R 18 is a viable option. The appearance would probably be terrible, and handling with the wider tires in front may be so bad that it would be unsafe.
