2012 C250 that has not been driven for past 2.5 years - what now?
Thanks for reading this thread. After the pandemic I have been working from home so I haven't been driven our 2012 C250 Luxury (currently only 47K miles) for the past 2.5 years. We are considering to sell it. Couple of quick questions:
1. Since it has been parked in the garage for the past 2.5 years (only drove like 2 miles to make sure the tires would not become squared) and now that we want to sell it, should we change engine oil right away? Anything else that we should pay attention to before we start driving it (after parked in the garage for so long)? By the way, I did keep the battery charged every 3 months... so the battery should be good.
2. We are considering to sell it ourselves. There are some scratches on the rear bumper. Should we consider to repair it first before we sell it? Would it worth the money to get it repaired? Thoughts?
3. My sister-in-law would like to sell their 2005 Mercedes E320 to us for a good price. Would it consider as an "upgrade" to go from 2012 Mercedes C250 (47K miles) to a 2005 Mercedes E320 (53K miles)? Thoughts?
Thanks again!
3.) E320s are nice but you’re moving 7 years the wrong way. Not to mention you don’t need a car, hence the predicament you’re in. You’d just end up in the same spot you’re in now.

2. If you get that bumper fixed, get it done right. A poorly done job will make a buyer wonder what else was done poorly.
3. 2005 E320 has an M112 engine known for exceptional life, one of the “forever” engines. But it’s a generation back in technology even though it’s a good car. Also, how has it been maintained? The 2012 C250 has an M271 EVO engine. Some of them have had problems that were covered by extended warranties that are about to expire, leaving the owner to pay the bill. There’s no way to know whether a car will be affected or not. The C250 is a really nice car excluding the problems.
A pristine black 2005 E Class Luxury gets oos and ahs at the symphony or restaurant valet and gets parked in the front. An average one is just an old Benz.
But, as CVX mentioned, do you need another car if that one sat in the garage? Are you beginning to drive regularly again?
