Took my 2012 C250 to the dealer to check on why my Comand resets after a few minutes. Estimate to replace is $2800. Any options or recommendations on how to replace Comand and still have steering wheel controls and back up camera? Suggestions on aftermarket units.

IMO, your car, like mine, is too old to pay dealer prices for any repair you can do yourself or have done at an independent shop.
Your local car stereo shop may be able to help with an aftermarket unit. Also search this site for “Replace Comand Unit.”
Used and refurbished head units are available online from $150-$450.

I bought this kit on ebay that has everything to install any aftermarket head unit: Dash Kit + Harness
I haven't installed it yet since so far I've been quite content with the AA/CarPlay module
