2012 C300 Scuff Plate/Cowl Trim Reassembly
I had to pull the carpet on the driver's side of my friend's 2012 C300 due to a water leak caused by a blocked AC drain line. I managed to clear the line and the carpet dried out OK. The carpet slid back into position but I am unable to get the above mentioned parts to clip in properly to the rails. I ordered new clips thinking that may be the issue but still am having a problem. Removal was easy as mentioned throughout the forum - just pulled up on the scuff plate and removed the weather-stripping from it, then popped the cowl trim piece off and slid it off the mounting bracket. Both pieces are aligned where they are supposed to be but I can not get the clips to click into place. Just curious if there is a trick to it that I am missing or is it just user error.
**Edit: Should the clips be the attached to the trim pieces and snapped in place or should the clips be attached to the rail first and then you inset the trim pieces into them?
Thanks.
