So they dont come on at night? if you set your headlights to auto do they come on at night, does the dash lighting change? Wonder if it may be a sensor that tells when its dark out. im just guessing. have you replaced or unhooked the battery lately to have the settings changed? Or it just started happening out of the blue?

So the lights in the switches are not turning on and you also have "auto lights inoperable" error message? Do your windshield wipers work? Your battery was dead, what did you do, jump it? is this when it all started after the dead battery? Like I said i have no idea, never happened to me. But a quick search for "auto lights inoperable" comes up with a few articles. One says to check all the fuses, especially the ones under the hood in the box on the drivers side. Another says they got the auto lights inoperable message after there alternator failed and they fixed it by replacing a module on the dash.
