Or, it could be viewed as a false-positive. While I prefer the physical format of the iCarsoft scanner, the Creader seems to cover all the bases a little better. I particularly like the report function of the Creader.

By the way, the Creader does distinguish between stored and current faults.

And this code, C221500, seems to be one of those quirky codes that you can never clear.

Hmmm I see, so basically a few back and forths, I guess in conclusion it is fair to say we can't go wrong with either scanner?

I think the real test would be to try some bi-directional functions, such as resetting the A or B service reminder or initializing some new component that replaced a failed one. I think you are right, for most people, either will do fine. For the price, though, the Creader is a bargain at $119.00.

Pretty much sums it up, thanks again for the review!

Quick update. I'm liking the Creader Elite a lot and would actually recommend it as long as folks know what they are doing. I ran a scan on my 2015 SL400 today and the scan completed in 1:45 and scanned 44 modules. I didn't compare it with the iCarsoft MB V3.0 for run-time on the SL. I will say the iCarsoft scanner is a little more intuitive and user friendly, but that difference goes away once you become familiar with the Creader.

Interesting, are you keeping it then? I mean you don't have a need for yet another scanner right especially how you have all the other ones including much more advanced ones and the top of the food chain, Xentry?

Hmmm, shall we throw Foxwell in the mix as well?

Do you think the iCarsoft is better at newer models like 2016+ or is the CReader better?

What about older models like 2015 minus, iCarsoft or CReader better?

I can't really say about older vs newer models, but both the iCarsoft and CReader have pluses and minuses. WRT the Foxwell, it looks like it has good features but I had a negative experience with it and returned it. It seems (maybe by coincidence) that when I ran an automatic scan, it hosed up my COMAND unit (which has the RoadTop CarPlay module installed) and I had to pull some fuses to reset everything. I did notice that the Creader provided the ability to reset the MOST BUS network in the car, so if I had known that I may have be able to avoid pulling fuses.

Oh yes I remember you mentioned that a few posts back, my bad, sorry about that I totally forgot you already reviewed that unit yet I still asked about it.

Hmmm, that is a very interesting discovery of the CReader, that might be useful actually, do you mind posting a picture of the box of the CReader front and back or did I miss it and that was already posted as well?

No problem. My problem with Foxwell may be because of the RoadTop unit or just coincidental. So, I wouldn’t automatically dismiss it. I’ll post pics soon.

I'm liking the Creader more and more. I like that you can add another car (for a fee). I added Honda to the scanner since my son and daughter both have Honda CR-Vs. I was also having problems with music not playing when I was view maps in CarPlay. I wasn't sure if something was wrong with my Road Top unit or if the latest iOS update messed something up. I was able to reboot the MOST network with the Creader (didn't try with iCarsoft) and that seemed to fix the issue for now. We'll see.

By the way, I need to look closely at Tim's Foxwell pictures to see if the Creader has the same functionality.

Nice, the scanner gets better and better it seems that you kept discovering useful things about it.

Like I said I really dont know im doing with that scanner, I was just going through playing around. If there is something specific let me know. I am curious how it compares to everything else. I didnt mess with any testing yet, wasnt even sure if the car needs to be running or not.

Last thing i used it for was to check the battery voltage and see what codes came up from the issue with my red battery light popping on. The auto vin feature is working for me again, Foxwell sent me an email telling me to try downloading the latest MB update and seems to be working fine again. I will say they seem to be good with answering me back when I contact them, twice now.
