I bought a used lemon ! 😩

Hello I purchased a 2011 c300 luxury sedan for my son last month . After he drove it, there was smoke out of the back which stopped. I took it to my mechanic who said I should have gotten a pre purchase inspection because they would have advised me not to buy this car. I had the dealer change the oil before I left the lot. They overfilled it. My mechanic stated that the car had a misfire on 5,4 and 6. They also said that when they adjusted the oil level they noticed that the engine has excessive sludge and they won’t service it after this . I was devastated. They said that the engine is on borrowed time and at some point will need to be replaced which would probably be more than I paid for the car. My mechanic said they would change the spark plugs to stop the misfiring if I intend to keep the car. They also said that the front brakes are 3mm and brake fluid is dirty so I also need new brake pads and discs.

Several days later I decided since I purchased the car “as is “ that I would go ahead and let tm mechanic change the spark plugs and just use it as a second car for myself to run errands. It’s a beautiful car and it drives well. I paid $6,500 for it. I’ve put less than 1000 miles on it since I purchased it at 176,000 miles. Today I noticed a puddle on my garage floor. Just trying to decide if it’s even worth getting new brakes. I spoke with the dealer and asked for my money back and he said no but he would fix the car. He misrepresented the condition of the car that he said he used personally for 3 years. It’s a small dealer with one or two cars randomly who I’ve purchased from before with no problem . He said he had all the services that it needed before I bought it. I don’t trust him to fix it because he lied in the first place.I’m also considering taking him to small claims court but the thought is draining me. I don’t trust that he can fix it. I would rather pay my mechanic who is a Mercedes specialist who has serviced my other Mercedes (that I purchased elsewhere) for years. I’m beyond devastated and don’t know what to do.
