Acceptable tire diameter difference

So I got a c300 4matic a couple days ago, trying to figure out a couple of things on it but now I noticed the previous owner changed the tires to a different size. The fronts are 22/45/17 and the rear are 245/45/17 this is a difference on 2.8%. Would this be acceptable? I’ve read through multiple sources some say under 1% some say under 3%. Would it be alright to leave it as is for now?

Someone recently had a similar question asking about staggered tire sizes on a 4matic. From my research you will get all different answers, at least from people online who are not Mercedes engineers. As you said some say X some say Y. I personally would put on the sizes that is recommended on the sticker in the drivers side door and have no more worries.

if you're not seeing codes or check engine lights or abs warning flashing on and off and the car seems to be driving fine then who knows. id be worried that even if it seems fine that something in the drive train is wearing prematurely, putting stress on certain things. Im purely speculating.

no codes but what worries me is if I get a code it might be an expensive code because it’s been the wrong size for a while. The tires still have decent tread but they are a brand I never heard of ”lionhart”. I think I’ll stop by the tire shop I know and see what they have. It’s a small tire and common size so probably won’t be too expensive to change out for the piece of kind. The only other size that would be less than 1% is 255 but I don’t think that’ll fit on a oem width wheel.
