2011 C350 taken to dealership after ESL failure, still there after 46 days
Hi everyone,
Just wanted to check if anyone is currently having a similar experience. On August 11th, I had to have my 2011 C350 4MATIC towed to the nearest MB dealership after it would not start (wheel would not unlock, no engine crank whatsoever).
All signs pointed to an ESL failure, which the dealership then confirmed the day it was towed in. The advisor told me they'd have to order in the parts from Germany, (1200 CAD for parts, 1200 estimated for labor), to which I agreed and told him to place the order immediately.
This was on August 11th, 2023. He said the parts would take about 10 days from Germany.
It is now September 27th, and even still there is no ETA for my car even after multiple calls to my service advisor, and even after recently emailing the service managers and parts manager of this dealership. 2 weeks ago my advisor told me someone else has come in with an identical issue, and the ETA for their part was farther than mine, which he estimated to be the end of that week.
The dealership did provide me with a loaner car at the end of August, which was in a minor accident last weekend.
Just wanted to check if anyone else is currently experiencing this prolonged delay, or has experienced it while getting their ESL fixed? It seems highly abnormal to me that a MB dealership would take this long to simply receive some parts.

I would ask specific questions, like have the parts been shipped yet and they are in transit, or are they on backorder in Germany. Do you have the invoice of what exact parts were ordered? maybe you can track them down on your own.
