Propeller shaft

I recently took my car 2013 c300 4Matic (w204) in to a transmission shop due to vibration and noise coming from the center of the car. Transmission shop said the propeller shaft was loose and that there is no way of repairing it. Shop said I had to replace the transmission. Any thoughts?

Take it to another shop for a 2nd opinion. Did they say exactly what the issue is? More detail would be helpful.

Could be engine mounts and/or transmission mounts.

At worse, maybe the transfer case is damaged.
