Weird Exhaust Note when wet/raining...

Hey folks. Here's a weird one I see on occasion...
When in heavy rain and wet conditions, at times, my exhaust will out of nowhere start sounding like a baffle just open up in the muffler or something. It gets noisy...definite change in the exhaust note; it is nothing else.

Any ideas or has anyone experienced this before?

thanks!
Lance

Were you trying this?

EDIT: How many people are old enough to remember this?

Probably has to do with the water cooling certain parts of the hot exhaust pipes and things contracting and expanding differently. Ive read several posts of people detailing the same issue. Unless you have an obvious exhaust leak, get under and inspect everything. i was recently under my car looking at the exhaust for the fisrt time and noticed a few clamps had splits and were cracked, the bolts were completely rusted through making them useless. One clamp had moved down the pipe. I bought new clamps and replaced them.

This clamp I couldnt get the bolt off, would just spin. thankfully the clamp was so gone i was able to spilt it to remove it. Didnt have to disconnect any pips.

Tried it in a Toyota Tercel. Didn’t work.
